Emirates Drug Establishment to Highlight Pharmaceutical Initiatives at Make it in the Emirates 2026

Abu dhabi: The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) is preparing to participate in Make it in the Emirates 2026, scheduled from 4 to 7 May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). During this four-day event, EDE will present initiatives focused on promoting the growth of the national pharmaceutical industry, enhancing competitiveness, and strengthening the ecosystem's efficiency for sustainable and future growth.

According to Emirates News Agency, EDE's exhibition platform will feature ten national manufacturers specializing in human and veterinary medicines, along with facilities dedicated to agricultural and health-related products. The showcase will also include established companies and start-ups producing a range of medical products such as generics, advanced pharmaceutical technologies, medical devices, veterinary products, fertilizers, and pesticides, all manufactured within the UAE.

The exhibition serves as an essential platform for industrial growth and attracting investment. EDE's involvement is anticipated to expand collaboration with both local and international partners, contributing to the creation of a more efficient and globally competitive pharmaceutical ecosystem. The Establishment reiterated its dedication to advancing the UAE's pharmaceutical sector and reinforcing the country's status as a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Director-General of the Emirates Drug Establishment, highlighted the organisation's progress in regulatory efficiency and responsiveness to sector needs. This includes accelerated registration and licensing pathways and streamlined processes for bringing pharmaceutical products to market. Al Kaabi emphasized the importance of aligning regulatory frameworks with advanced industry requirements to reduce time-to-market and enhance the local market's readiness for emerging developments.

She further stated that EDE places a significant emphasis on utilizing digital solutions to improve services, transparency, and operational efficiency. This creates a business environment that fosters growth and enables companies to expand locally and internationally. EDE's participation in Make it in the Emirates 2026 is part of its efforts to bolster the national pharmaceutical industry's competitiveness, increase localization, and build strategic partnerships for knowledge and technology transfer.
