Emirates Group Partners with Moro Hub for Transition to Solar-Powered Data Center

Dubai: The Emirates Group has partnered with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, for co-location services at the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Moro Hub holds the distinction of being the world's largest solar-powered data center, as recognized by Guinness World Records.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Emirates Group's decision marks a significant transition for its technology infrastructure as it gears up for future growth. The organization plans to begin relocating its data center operations to Moro Hub by mid-2026. Moro Hub will offer an array of services, including rack space, power, cooling, equipment supply, and other related services.

This strategic move will enable the Emirates Group to utilize clean energy, requiring 3,000 megawatts annually to power its data center. The partnership reflects Dubai's commitment to sustainable digital innovation and aligns with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050.

The agreement was formalized in the presence of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Michael Doersam, the Emirates Group's Chief Financial and Group Services Officer, and Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Digital DEWA. Al Tayer emphasized the strategic importance of this alliance, highlighting Dubai's leadership in sustainable aviation and digital transformation.

Michael Doersam noted that the collaboration with Moro Hub represents a crucial advancement for the Emirates Group's technology landscape, aligning with a shared vision to position Dubai as a global leader in technology and sustainability. By transitioning to Moro Hub, the Emirates Group aims to enhance operational resilience, scalability, and environmental sustainability.
