The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) has launched an applied research project aimed at assessing the efficacy of nanotechnology in improving water, fertilizer, and pesticide efficiency in agriculture, as well as in enhancing soil quality. This initiative underscores the center's commitment to exploring and integrating advanced technologies in the agricultural sector. The research involves the evaluation of different nano-fertilizers to gauge their effectiveness in enhancing plant nutrient uptake and fertilization efficiency compared to traditional methods. Furthermore, experts will observe the efficacy of nano-pesticides in managing pests affecting vital vegetable crops, contrasting their performance with conventional pesticides, and of certain nano-enhancers in enhancing soil quality, boosting productivity, and increasing water retention capabilities. The project is expected to support the localization of nanotechnology applications in agriculture, alig ning with the center's goal of achieving sustainable agricultural production.
