Abu dhabi: Etihad Airways has partnered with the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) Abu Dhabi to offer complimentary medical travel insurance to all international visitors arriving in Abu Dhabi on Etihad-operated flights. This initiative is being executed in collaboration with The National Insurance Company - Daman.
According to Emirates News Agency, this initiative is a step forward for both Etihad and DCT Abu Dhabi to cater to the increasing travel demand to the emirate. The insurance, valid from July through December 2026, is underwritten by Daman, a part of PureHealth. It automatically covers eligible visitors for up to 15 days in the UAE without requiring a formal application.
The coverage applies to any guest flying to Abu Dhabi on an Etihad-operated service with the point of origin and point of sale outside the UAE. Additionally, travelers taking advantage of Etihad's complimentary Stopover Programme to explore Abu Dhabi are covered during their stay, subject to terms and conditions.
This initiative aims to simplify travel arrangements for visitors, providing them with a compelling reason to choose Abu Dhabi as their destination. It highlights Etihad's commitment to ensuring a smooth travel experience for its guests.
Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized the growing global interest in Abu Dhabi and the importance of providing an exceptional visitor experience. The partnership with Etihad is expected to raise the standards for destination services, ensuring guests feel valued and cared for.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Airways, stated that the goal is to make the journey to and stay in Abu Dhabi as seamless as possible. The comprehensive medical insurance offered with every eligible Etihad ticket allows guests to fully enjoy the Emirati hospitality.
