The EU welcomed the reunification of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) and called for enhanced transparency and a fair distribution of oil income.

The EU Ambassador to Libya, Jose Sabadell, said in a tweet today, “We welcome this reunification as a step in the right direction for the unity of Libya.”

“Political and technical work must follow to ensure reinforcement of transparency and fair distribution of oil income among all Libyans as a basis for the peace and prosperity Libya deserves,” he added.
