Brussels: An EU spokesperson stated that the European Union will "examine the lessons learned" from the recent blackout in Spain and Portugal to help prevent similar incidents elsewhere in Europe. During the daily press conference, Paula Pinho, the European Commission's chief spokesperson, described the outage as being of 'unprecedented scale' and emphasised that the EU will 'clearly draw the necessary conclusions, share them, and take appropriate action if required.'
According to Emirates News Agency, the analysis will focus on understanding the causes of the blackout, assessing the EU's preparedness, and identifying key lessons from the incident. Pinho highlighted that these efforts will involve all relevant parties over the coming days and weeks, aiming to improve the EU's response to such critical infrastructure failures in the future.
