Euro Area Unemployment Drops to 6.3%


Brussels: In November 2025, the euro area seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 6.3%, slightly down from 6.4% in October 2025 and a slight increase from 6.2% in November 2024. The European Union’s unemployment rate remained stable at 6.0% in November 2025, maintaining the same rate as October 2025, but showing a rise from 5.8% in November 2024.



According to Emirates News Agency, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, reported that approximately 13.225 million individuals were unemployed in the EU during November 2025, with 10.937 million of these residing in the euro area. The figures highlight a decrease in unemployment by 97 thousand in the EU and by 71 thousand in the euro area when compared to October 2025.



Furthermore, a year-on-year comparison reveals an increase in unemployment, with 416 thousand more individuals unemployed in the EU and 253 thousand more in the euro area compared to November 2024.
