“Fakhr” Initiative Participants to Start 4 Professional Sports Camps in Europe

Riyadh, Participants in “Fakhr” program initiative, who have recently completed their training camp in 4 sports fields in Riyadh, and started joining sports clubs for persons with disabilities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will enroll in professional training camps in four different sports in three European countries, it was reported today.

The first camp will take place in The Netherlands next Saturday, focussing on enhancing the skills of 80 participants in basketball, while the Spain camp will aim to develop the capabilities of 144 participants in athletics. In Poland, where the remaining two camps will be hosted, the focus will be on boosting the skills of 126 participants on weightlifting and shooting.

Last July, the Ministry of Sports announced the launch of the “Pride Program” initiative, organized by the Saudi Paralympic Committee and falls under the Quality of Life Program, towards achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

“Fakhr” objectives intend to rehabilitate and train persons with disabilities and integrate them into the local and international sports community and improve the quality of life for them by discovering and developing their sports capabilities, enhancing community participation in sports activities, and creating sports champions to represent the country in local, regional and international arenas.
