Fazza Falcons Racing Cup Set to Launch Second Edition at Lahbab Track in Dubai


Dubai: Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup (Telwah) is set to commence its second edition on 12 January at the Lahbab Track in Dubai. The event is organized by the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center and aims to continue the momentum of its successful inaugural edition.

According to Emirates News Agency, the championship will be held over a 400-metre distance, following the high standards set last year. The first edition was notable for its wide participation and competitive results, showcasing the skill and dedication of the participating falconers. The event was established to honor the support extended to falconry racing by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The championship will feature competitions in two main categories: the Public Category (Owners – Open) scheduled for 12 January and the Sheikh Category, which will take place on 17 January across six rounds. Falcons in the Farkh category, achieving top position
s in the Fazza Championship for Falconry – Telwah, will have the opportunity to compete in the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup. The total prize pool for the event amounts to AED2.8 million.

Rashid bin Markhan, Secretary General of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing and the UAE Falcons Federation, expressed pride in the championship’s achievements. He highlighted that despite being newly established, the event has already made a significant impact on falconry racing in the UAE. The presence and engagement of the leadership during the inaugural edition underscored the cultural importance of the sport.

Bin Markhan also mentioned that the UAE Falcons Federation has made all championship details available through its social media platforms, ensuring that participants and stakeholders have access to accurate and timely information regarding the event.
