Abu Dhabi: FIFA has affirmed its commitment to supporting international female match officials by offering opportunities to balance motherhood with their refereeing careers, coinciding with World Health Day on 7th April.
According to Emirates News Agency, FIFA Head of Women's Football Bibiana Steinhaus-Webb stated that FIFA works with top female referees from all over the world, and some of them are mothers. They face distinct challenges, and FIFA is striving to foster an inclusive and fair environment for all women.
Steinhaus-Webb added that FIFA provides female referees with personalised support to help them return to elite refereeing safely. She emphasized that FIFA is constantly working to break down barriers, making it possible for women to be both mothers and World Cup referees.
