Finance Ministry Collaborates with IMF, AMF to Launch Government Finance Statistics Training Program


Riyadh: The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), initiated a training program on government finance statistics in Jeddah on Sunday.

Titled “Government Finance Statistics: Preparation, Publication Standards, and Economic Analysis,” the program is attended by 45 participants from various government entities in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. It will run until May 9, with the Government Finance Statistics Development Committee representing the Ministry of Finance during the program.

Reflecting collective Arab efforts, the program aims to familiarize participants with the collection, preparation, and presentation of government finance statistics for economic analysis purposes. It will also cover the design of economic policies based on the concepts outlined in the Government Finance Statistics Manual produced by the IMF.

The program includes a series of lectures, practical case studies, and group work fo
r participants, facilitated by a team of lecturers from both the IMF and AMF.
