Financial Audit Authority to Host Third ‘Foreseeing Government Audit Future Conference’ in Dubai

Dubai:The Financial Audit Authority (FAA) has announced that it will organize the third edition of the 'Foreseeing Government Audit Future Conference,' taking place on October 28 and 29, 2026, under the theme 'Smart Audit.'

According to Emirates News Agency, the conference aims to gather leading officials, experts, and specialists in the fields of audit, oversight, and governance. This initiative is part of the FAA's efforts to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, explore the ongoing transformations in audit and oversight, and support the development of practices that keep pace with the rapidly evolving government landscape.

The conference is timely as the audit profession is experiencing significant changes due to advancements in artificial intelligence, increased cyber risks, and the expanding role of emerging technologies. It will address evolving requirements in governance, performance, and sustainability.

Abdulrahman Al Hareb, Director General of the Financial Audit Authority, emphasized the need for the audit sector to adapt to the rapid transformations in government operations. He highlighted the importance of leveraging technology and specialized expertise to enhance integrity, protect public funds, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government performance.

The conference will feature discussions on various topics, including 'Cyber Financial Auditing in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,' 'AI in Internal Audit: Use Cases,' and 'Auditing AI: From Risk to Confidence.' Sessions will also cover 'Risks and Governance of Emerging Technologies' and 'Strategic Planning and Innovation within Internal Audit.'

In addition, the event will explore the evolving role of audit in supporting institutional performance and governance. A dedicated session on the 'FAA Data Science Journey' will be part of the discussions, emphasizing the importance of equipping auditors with the necessary skills to navigate the changing profession.

The conference will begin with a preparatory day on October 28, featuring workshops on 'Enhancing Government Entities' Financial Closing and Reporting Practices' and 'Challenges in External Auditing and Enhancing Audit Quality.' The event will foster partnerships in audit and oversight with internal audit directors from both government and non-government sectors.
