First Session of International Conference Communication with the Departments of Religious Affairs, Ifta, and Sheikhdoms in World Kicks Off

The inaugural session of the International Conference titled “Engaging with Departments of Religious Affairs, Ifta, and Sheikhdoms Worldwide” commenced today. Hosted by Makkah, the conference centres around the theme of “Communication and Integration” and is scheduled for August 13th and 14th. The event is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance and draws participation from 150 scholars and muftis hailing from 85 countries across the globe.

The opening session of the conference, graced by the presence of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, delved into the endeavours undertaken by worldwide religious affairs departments and sheikhdoms. The session was dedicated to discussing their contributions to the service of Islam and Muslims, as well as their roles in fostering Islamic unity.

Under the guidance of Dr. Saleh bin Saad Al-Suhaimi, a member of the faculty staff of Islamic universities, the session featured an address by the President of the Islamic Sheikhdom in the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Aziz Hasanovic. Dr. Hasanovic presented a paper that underscored the conference’s significance and underscored the necessity of activating the roles of sheikhdoms and fatwas in advancing Islamic unity for the betterment of Islam and the Muslim community. He emphasized that the conference serves as a platform to amplify the voice of Islam and bridge the gap between its teachings and people’s understanding. Furthermore, he highlighted Islam’s core principles of amicability, social interaction, comprehension, and respect for others.
