Flydubai Launches Direct Flights to Riga, Latvia

Abu dhabi: Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has inaugurated its first direct service to Riga, the capital of Latvia, with the commencement of a three-times-weekly service connecting Dubai International (DXB) and Riga Airport (RIX). The inaugural flight was warmly received by airport officials in Riga, highlighting the importance of this new link between the UAE and Latvia.

According to Emirates News Agency, Noora Juma, the Ambassador of the UAE to Latvia, emphasized that this development marks a new chapter in the relationship between the United Arab Emirates and Latvia. She expressed that the introduction of flydubai's direct flights will not only enhance connectivity but also foster opportunities in tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.

The new flights are anticipated to bolster tourism and support the growing economic ties between the UAE and Latvia. Moreover, Latvian travelers will gain improved access to Dubai's global hub and onward connections.

Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, stated that the Riga service strengthens the airline's presence in Europe and aligns with their strategy to expand connectivity in underserved markets. He highlighted Latvia as an exciting market and expressed satisfaction in offering a direct link between Dubai and Riga, while reaffirming the airline's commitment to investing in its fleet and services for an enhanced customer experience.

In addition to Riga, flydubai has initiated nonstop services to Chi?inau in Moldova, Ia?i in Romania, and Vilnius in Lithuania, expanding its European footprint to 35 destinations across 20 countries.

Laila Odina, Chairperson of the Board of RIX Riga Airport, expressed delight over flydubai's new service from Riga Airport. She noted that the direct connection to Dubai will not only benefit travelers interested in exploring Dubai and the UAE but will also strengthen business and economic ties between the UAE and Latvia. Furthermore, UAE residents will have the opportunity to discover the natural and cultural attractions of the Baltic and Scandinavian regions.
