FNC and Iranian Delegation Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation at IPU Assembly

Abu Dhabi:Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, the head of the Federal National Council (FNC) Group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, met with Manouchehr Mottaki, head of the delegation of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 153rd IPU Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania, to discuss parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.

According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the significant role parliamentary institutions play in strengthening international relations and partnerships. He noted their contribution to peace, security, stability, sustainable development, and the advancement of common interests.

Dr. Al Nuaimi further highlighted the necessity of genuine dialogue to resolve regional crises, emphasizing solutions that consider regional peoples' interests and enhance security and stability both regionally and internationally. He reiterated the FNC's commitment to advancing parliamentary diplomacy and expanding dialogue with friendly parliaments, aligning with the UAE's support for international cooperation and dialogue.

Both parties agreed on the importance of ongoing dialogue, coordination, and consultation to serve shared interests, bolster regional security and stability, and foster good-neighborly relations. They also recognized the critical role of parliaments in international forums, enhancing communication and addressing joint concerns to bridge differences and tackle regional and international challenges.
