Tunis:The Federal National Council (FNC) Speaker, Saqr Ghobash, welcomed Dr. Tobias Tunkel, the German Ambassador to the UAE, to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation and friendship between the UAE and Germany. The discussions focused on boosting parliamentary cooperation, exchanging expertise, and coordinating efforts between the Federal National Council and the German Parliament (Bundestag) to support the strategic partnership between the two nations.
According to Emirates News Agency, Saqr Ghobash emphasized the robust ties between the UAE and Germany, highlighting the ongoing development across various sectors. He pointed out the commitment of both countries' leaderships to fortify bilateral cooperation and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering cooperation and exchanging views on mutual interests.
Ghobash also commended the successful state visit by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Germany last September. He noted that this visit was a significant milestone, elevating bilateral relations to a more comprehensive and institutionalized level, and underscored the importance of aligning parliamentary cooperation with the political and economic momentum generated by the visit.
Dr. Tobias Tunkel recognized the advanced cooperation level between the two countries and reiterated Germany's dedication to strengthening its partnership with the UAE across various fields, including parliamentary cooperation and the exchange of visits. He highlighted the significance of these efforts in the wake of the state visit, which positively impacted bilateral relations and expanded cooperation opportunities.
