For the first time in several years, the largest ship carrying containers docks at the free zone port in Misrata.


The ship Flora, affiliated with the shipping agent Al Marsa Company, docked at the Free Zone Port in Misrata yesterday as the first and largest operator of transit operations in Libyan ports.

The Misrata Free Zone stated on its website that this ship coming from the port of Jebel Ali-Dubai in the UAE is 300 meters long and 40 meters wide and has the largest draft entering the free zone port with a depth of more than 12.5 meters.

It highlighted that the ship carries on board 5,250 TEUS containers, including 4,481 transit containers, which will be shipped to the ports of Hamburg and Hankinsbttel in Germany, Naples in Italy, Santos in Brazil, and Damietta in Egypt.

It pointed out that for the first time in several years, a commercial container ship with a load exceeding 3,000 containers entered Libyan ports with a draft exceeding 12.5 meters.
