Evian: The upcoming Group of Seven (G7) Summit, hosted by this year's French G7 presidency, will take place in Evian, France. Organisers have scheduled the summit for 15-17 June 2026, amid concerns over geopolitical uncertainty, trade tensions, and widening economic imbalances worldwide.
According to Emirates News Agency, the summit aims to highlight the importance of multilateralism in addressing today's international challenges and to promote a stable and predictable global economic environment. Over three days, world leaders are expected to engage in several working sessions focusing on a range of critical issues, including geopolitical challenges, peace and security for Ukraine and Europe, the situation in the Middle East, international partnerships and solidarity, more balanced economic growth, and the future of artificial intelligence.
The French presidency has extended invitations to leaders from several non-G7 countries to participate in some of the working sessions, reflecting a commitment to broader international cooperation. In preparation for the summit, President Emmanuel Macron chaired a video conference on 11 June with G7 countries and representatives from China, India, Brazil, the Republic of Korea, and Kenya. This meeting focused on addressing macroeconomic imbalances and enhancing global economic governance.
The last G7 summit was held in Alberta, Canada, in June 2025, setting the stage for this year's discussions in Evian.
