RABAT, French President Emanuel Macron informed Moroccan King, Mohammad VI of Paris' recognition of Morocco's authority on the Moroccan Sahara, considering the autonomous rule plan by Rabat to be the only way towards a political resolution to the regional conflict. Moroccan Royal Diwan mentioned Tuesday that this came in a letter Macron addressed to the Moroccan monarch, in which he declared autonomous rule under Moroccan sovereignty to be the framework under which this issue is resolved. Macron affirmed support to this solution saying it would lead to a fair and sustainable political solution as per Security Council resolutions. The French President also commended Morocco's efforts in improving socioeconomic conditions in the Moroccan Sahara.
