GASTAT Represents Saudi Arabia at OIC Statistical Commission Meeting

President of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) Dr. Fahad Aldossari led the Saudi delegation to the 13th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Statistical Commission, held by Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, in Ankara, Trkiye. The meeting, on October 15-16, 2024, brought together heads of official statistical centers from OIC member states. The primary objective was to exchange experience, discuss best practices, and enhance statistical capabilities in the Islamic world. Participants focused on the following key areas: reviewing the OIC Statistical Commission 2021-2025 work plan, examining indicators related to the second Sustainable Development Goal, discussing the role of statistical agencies in supporting national development plans, and exploring OIC member states' opportunities to collaborate and share knowledge.
