The belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo on Wednesday affirmed that the first GCC-EU Summit is an event that has been waited for since a long time ago, noting that participation of high-level delegations mirrors the fact that GCC and European leaders eye it as quite significant. Croo, speaking upon his arrival to partake in the top-level meeting, said it was quite imperative to hold it at this level, stressing on the necessity to bolster the economic relations between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council states. The two sides share a slew of geopolitical issues of common concern namely the situation in the Middle East, Croo said, indicating that the summit was a proper platform to address the Middle Eastern Issue.
