During the meeting, a number of important topics on the meeting’s agenda were discussed, most notably; draft standards and GCC technical regulations and the work of joint technical committees.

The Kingdom’s hosting of the Gulf Technical Council meeting comes as an extension of strengthening the Kingdom’s leading role in the region in the field of standardization activities, in support of the economic and industrial growth of member states, and in activating the integrated work to protect GCC consumers and markets from products that do not conform to Gulf standards and technical regulations.

It is worth mentioning that the GSO aims to unify the various standardization activities, follow up their implementation, and commit to them in cooperation and coordination with the standardization bodies in the member states, in a way that contributes to the development of trade between them, consumer protection, the environment and public health, and the encouragement of GCC industries and products in order to achieve support for the GCC economy.
