Dubai: The General Network for Government Communication (GNGC), under the General Secretariat of The Executive Council of Dubai, held its quarterly meeting at Al Khawaneej Majlis, gathering senior communication leaders from various government entities across Dubai.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was attended by Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, and Sabah Salem Al Shamsi, Acting Assistant Secretary General for Government Communication and General Secretariat Affairs. They discussed national initiatives supporting the Year of Community 2025 and the Dubai Social Agenda 33. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid highlighted the importance of collaboration among government communication teams to enhance the impact of government work. She stressed that aligning messages and sharing expertise can amplify the effectiveness of communication campaigns and maximize their impact.
Sabah Salem Al Shamsi emphasized that the Year of Community, declared by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, underscores the leadership's commitment to reinforcing key social values. He stated that strengthening cohesion helps translate these values into positive action, reflecting the importance of community values in national identity.
Budoor Ali, Director of Government Communications at the General Secretariat of The Executive Council, noted that effective communication revolves around engaging with people. Dubai's government entities have developed a dynamic model for inspiring participation, boosting social cohesion, and contributing to the objectives of the Year of Community and the Dubai Social Agenda 33.
Mira Al Siri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Community Development Authority in Dubai, presented strategies for engaging various community groups, including senior citizens, people of determination, youth, and low-income individuals. She highlighted the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, aiming to promote social stability and foster community bonds through initiatives like Dubai Weddings and Dubai Iftar.
The meeting also reviewed several key initiatives, including 'Our Children, Our Responsibility', launched under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Mariam Al Falahi, Director of the Social Policy and Strategy Department at the General Secretariat of The Executive Council, described the comprehensive framework for child welfare, which includes healthcare, education, social services, and legal support from pre-natal through to adulthood.
Shahla Al Shehhi, Acting Director of the Communication and Marketing Department at the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, introduced the Closer to the Community project. This initiative features Ramadan activities aimed at enhancing community engagement by promoting ethical values, supporting Quranic education, and encouraging social cohesion within neighborhoods, thereby reinforcing national identity and social values.
