Abu Dhabi:Global Food Week 2026 is set to reinforce its status as a premier global platform for dialogue and collaboration in the food, agriculture, and sustainability sectors. The event will welcome notable international organisations and initiatives, including the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), and the FAO Policy Majlis.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event, organised by ADNEC Group in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), will take place from October 6th to 8th, 2026, at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. It aims to gather governments, international organisations, development institutions, private sector leaders, investors, researchers, and innovators to tackle the pressing challenges and opportunities in the global food system.
The comprehensive agenda includes discussions, expert forums, and knowledge-sharing sessions focused on advancing food security and transforming agrifood systems. Global Food Week will host the WOAH GCC and Africa Workshop, which will explore technical and trade cooperation opportunities, develop institutional and animal health frameworks, and emphasize international coordination in addressing cross-border animal health issues.
Additionally, FAO's YALAFAST programme will convene emerging young leaders globally to enhance leadership skills and strengthen international networks, empowering them to contribute to innovative solutions for inclusive and sustainable agrifood systems.
The FAO Policy Majlis will also take place from October 7th to 8th, providing a platform for policy dialogue on agrifood systems transformation in the Near East and North Africa. This programme will bring together policymakers, experts, youth representatives, and stakeholders to discuss science, technology, innovation, youth engagement, and investment pathways for efficient and resilient agrifood systems.
These initiatives, along with others such as the Global Food Security Summit and AgriTech Forum, create an ecosystem for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, explore opportunities, and forge partnerships to strengthen global food security. The participation of leading organisations underscores Global Food Week‚¬Å¡¬‚¬Å¾¢s importance as a hub for dialogue and multilateral collaboration.
