Global Food Week to Launch with Unprecedented International Participation in Abu Dhabi.


Abu Dhabi: Global Food Week is set to commence next week under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Scheduled from November 26 to 28, 2024, the event will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). It promises a robust program featuring specialized exhibitions and conferences, including the 3rd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition, the 10th edition of the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition, the inaugural Global Food Security Summit, and the debut of the Abu Dhabi Coffee Platform.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event is organized by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority. It receives support from various entities, such as the UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group as a Knowledge Partner, the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation as a Strategic Partner for the Date Palm Exhibition, and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment as the Host Sponsor
of the Global Food Security Summit. Additional sponsors include the Abu Dhabi Exports Office and Experience Abu Dhabi.

Saeed Al Mansoori, Advisor for International Events at ADNEC Group, expressed pride in organizing the event, highlighting its role as an exceptional platform for addressing food security and sustainability challenges. He noted significant growth in this year’s event, with exhibition space increasing by 13% to 32,000 square meters and a 20% rise in exhibitors to 660. The number of participating companies and brands has surged by 46% to over 1,900, with representation from 70 countries, including 33 newcomers.

The Abu Dhabi Coffee Platform will launch with 60 prominent global coffee brands. Badr Al Shehhi of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority emphasized Abu Dhabi’s and the UAE’s leadership in global food security innovation. The Global Food Security Summit will feature 80 speakers, 600 participants, and 20 ministers discussing crucial topics like global hunger and sustainable
development.

Saleh Lootah, Chairman of the UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group, highlighted the event’s alignment with the UAE’s vision for innovation and sustainability in the food sector. As a Knowledge Partner for the Global Food Security Summit, the group aims to foster international partnerships and support local producers.

Dr Abdel Wahhab Zaid, Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, underscored the importance of the 10th edition of the Abu Dhabi Date Palm Exhibition in enhancing global food security. The exhibition will feature over 100 exhibitors from 20 countries, including a dedicated innovation pavilion.

The Global Food Week aims to facilitate networking, knowledge exchange, and business partnerships. It is expected to witness numerous contracts, partnerships, and agreements, enhancing global supply chains through targeted B2B meetings.
