Global Media Congress 2024 to Host Series of Innovative Media Labs.


Abu Dhabi: The third edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC), scheduled from 26th to 28th November in Abu Dhabi, will feature a series of pioneering media labs aimed at addressing the most pressing issues in the global media sector for 2024 and beyond. These Media Labs, a key highlight for attendees this year, provide an exclusive environment for leading figures and experts to engage in private, in-depth discussions on the sector’s critical challenges. Across three days, these sessions will facilitate strategic dialogues designed to help shape the future of global media.

According to Emirates News Agency, on the first day, the media labs will explore topics such as “Investigative Journalism,” examining future trends and strategies to overcome industry challenges. A session on “Artificial Intelligence” will also discuss the potential for adopting the European Artificial Intelligence Law as a model for global regulation.

The second day will host the “Media in the Middle East” lab, focusing on building reg
ional media outlets to strengthen global narratives, as well as a session on climate action that will explore the media’s evolving role in addressing this increasingly urgent global crisis.

The final day will include sessions on “International Affairs,” analysing recent impactful news events and their multifaceted implications, and “Social Work,” which will consider the role of literature in the pursuit of social justice.

The Media Labs are designed as 60-minute roundtable discussions, bringing together global media leaders, innovators, and influencers to examine the industry’s challenges and opportunities. These closed sessions, accessible through advance registration, are part of seven main platforms within the conference, which will also feature an impressive programme of speakers from government, media, and academia.
