Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, recently chaired a meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and the Digital Economy. The meeting focused on innovative initiatives and projects designed to enhance Dubai's position as a leader in the digital economy and future industries.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Hamdan reviewed an ambitious executive plan aimed at accelerating the integration of agentic artificial intelligence (Agentic AI) within Dubai's private sector. This initiative seeks to enhance business readiness and drive economic opportunity creation through advanced AI solutions. The plan includes empowering 295,000 companies, developing 100 specialized AI assistants, and establishing 50 Agentic AI companies over the next two years.
Sheikh Hamdan also approved Dubai's hosting of the 50th edition of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, scheduled for November 2026. This event underscores Dubai's status as a global hub for digital talent and innovation.
Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of attracting top global talent. The 'Dubai Global Talent Network' platform was introduced to connect international professionals, enhancing Dubai's reputation as a leading destination for expertise and innovation.
In terms of security, Sheikh Hamdan approved the 'Digital Twin System' for Dubai Police. This project will utilize advanced digital technologies for smart surveillance, improving security operations through real-time data analysis and enhanced decision-making capabilities.
The meeting also highlighted the success of several strategic initiatives. The SME digital trade support initiative, in partnership with Amazon, exceeded its targets, reaching 105,000 companies by May 2026. Furthermore, the 'Ignyte' platform now serves over 36,000 users, providing crucial support for entrepreneurs and startups.
Other notable developments include the Dubai AI Campus, which hosts 400 specialized companies, and the Dubai PropTech Hub, which saw a 118% growth in companies within a year. The Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce and AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform have also made significant strides in integrating AI into government services.
The meeting was attended by key figures such as Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, and Helal Saeed AlMarri, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, among others.
