Heritage Commission Organizes International Industrial Heritage Workshop in Jax District

Diriyah, The Heritage Commission organized the International Workshop on Industrial Heritage yesterday at Jax, a prominent industrial heritage district in Riyadh’s Diriyah Governorate. The workshop focused on global industrial heritage trends, examining case studies on these sites’ planning, activation, and adaptive reuse while considering Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The commission aims to build collaboration with the International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage (TICCIH) through this workshop. Their objective is to delve into the concept of oil and gas industry heritage, highlight the Kingdom’s unique industrial heritage assets, and foster awareness among those interested in preserving this historical legacy.

The Heritage Commission announced a public exhibition showcasing documentation of the Kingdom’s industrial heritage sites. They also organized a field trip to the Jax district for the workshop guests to explore.
