Acapulco:Hurricane Vance rapidly intensified into a Category 2 storm on Friday as it approached Mexico's Pacific Coast, the National Hurricane Centre reported.
According to Wam, Vance exhibited maximum sustained winds of 110 mph (177 kph) while located approximately 620 kilometres south-southwest of Acapulco, based on an advisory from the Miami-based hurricane centre.
The storm was nearing major hurricane strength; however, the centre indicated that gradual weakening was anticipated to commence by Saturday.
