IAEA: No Nuclear Fuel Crisis; Reserves Secure for 21st Century

Moscow: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has dismissed concerns over a possible shortage of nuclear fuel, stating that global uranium reserves are adequate to sustain nuclear plants until the end of the century. According to Emirates News Agency, IAEA Deputy Director General Mikhail Chudakov addressed these concerns on the sidelines of the World Atomic Week Forum in Moscow. He emphasized that mining activity is closely linked to market prices, with electricity production costs remaining a critical factor. Chudakov's statements were in agreement with those made by Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev. Chudakov also noted that ongoing geological exploration continues to uncover new uranium deposits worldwide, further supporting the long-term stability and viability of the nuclear energy sector.
