Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef began today an official visit to Italy to bolster the two countries cooperation in industry and mining. The visit, which will last through October 16, will focus on exploring investment opportunities in key industrial sectors part of Saudi Arabia s National Industrial Strategy, including automotive, food, space, and marine industries. Alkhorayef will also explore industrial innovation solutions and endeavor to attract investments in promising sectors in the Kingdom. In Rome and Milan, the minister will meet with government officials and private sector leaders, and visit leading Italian companies. The meetings aim to facilitate transfer of knowledge, particularly in smart manufacturing, and strengthen bilateral economic ties. In 2023, Saudi non-oil exports to Italy totaled SAR2.8 billion, while non-oil imports from Italy reached SAR21.8 billion. Key Saudi exports included chemicals, polymers, building materials, heavy machinery, electronics, a nd packaging. Major imports from Italy consisted of heavy machinery, electronics, building materials, food products, and pharmaceuticals. Source: Saudi Press Agency
