Minister of Industry and Trade and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Standards Metrology and Quality Control Authority Mohammed al-Mutahar on Monday stressed the importance of developing work in the authority and the speedy completion of examination and trade transactions and not delaying them.
The Minister of Industry and Trade, during a meeting with the leadership and employees of the authority today, expressed his confidence in the ability of the new leadership of the authority to achieve a quantum leap in work.
Al-Mutahar stressed the importance of concerted efforts and working in a team spirit to advance the impact of the Authority and upgrade it and activate its role in consumer protection.
Minister al-Mutahar pointed to the importance of the Authority’s role in assisting national industries and local producers by providing appropriate levels of standard specifications and enhancing their competitiveness against foreign products in the local and foreign markets.
Director of the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Sam al-Bashiri pointed out the importance of sensing responsibility to raise the level of the work pace in the authority, maintaining the equipment of testing laboratories, and setting development plans for what customers with the authority and the citizen touch in the markets.
He stressed the importance of all commodities in the markets conforming to the specifications and not allowing any adulterated commodities to enter the markets.
In addition, the Minister of Industry and Trade was briefed on the progress of work in the authority’s laboratory, where he listened to an explanation about the activities of the examination departments for various commodities and commodities.
He urged the provision of services to importing companies according to the highest professional levels to ensure quality and food safety.
