Al Mahwit Province's Undersecretary for Development Affairs, Mohammed Al Nuwaira, inspected on Wednesday the work progress on two water barriers in Al Khabt and Bani Saad Directorates, funded by the Central Development Interventions Unit at the Finance Ministry. The Undersecretary Al Nuwaira, accompanied by the Director of Agricultural Programs at the Interventions Unit, Engineer Mohammed Bishr, and the Director of Community Initiatives, Ali Al Shahdhi, inspected the ongoing work on Al Hasi Barrier Project in Al Khabt Directorate, which has a storage capacity of 22,948 cubic meters, at a cost of 156 million , 850 thousand riyals, and Al Athb Barrier in Bani Saad Directorate, which has a storage capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters, at a cost of 53 million and 653 thousand riyals. The Deputy Governor urged those in charge to double their efforts and quickly complete the two projects according to the approved technical specifications, given their importance in irrigating agricultural lands and feeding groundw ater wells. For his part, Engineer Bishr explained that the Interventions Unit focuses on financing and implementing these projects due to their positive impact on the advancement of the agricultural sector.
