International Charity Organisation presents AED4 million to support ‘Tarahum – for Gaza’ campaign


AJMAN: Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Charity Organisation (ICO), has presented a checque of AED4 million to Mohammad Omar Al-Shammari, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) centre in Ajman, in support of the ‘Tarahum- for Gaza’ campaign that was launched to assist Palestinians.

Saeed Obaid Al Zaabi, a Member of the Board of Trustees of ICO, Dr Khaled Abdel Wahab Al Khaja, Secretary General of the organisation, and Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Donation Department at the ERC centre in Ajman were present.

Al Nuaimi said that the ICO continues to receive donations as part of the campaign to contribute to the UAE’s charitable efforts, serving as a model of giving and providing relief for those in need. ‘Since the launch of ‘Tarahum-for Gaza’, we have established a dedicated team to coordinate the collection of donations. These contributions, ranging from cash donations to essential food and medical supplies for women and children, are r
eceived at both our Ajman headquarters and Ras Al Khaimah branch,’ he added.

He also extended thanks and appreciation to stakeholders including institutions, companies and donors.

In turn, Al-Shammari extended thanks to ICO’s administration and field teams for their fruitful efforts in support of the campaign, which is one of the most important initiatives to assist the fraternal people of Palestine.
