International Conference on Human Fraternity to Convene in Jakarta on July 29

Jakarta: The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCHF), headquartered in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Indonesian International Islamic University (IIIU), is set to host an International Conference on Human Fraternity in Jakarta on July 29-30.

According to Emirates News Agency, the conference, titled “Advancing Human Fraternity Amid Global Uncertainty: Towards a More Peaceful and Prosperous Civilisation,” represents a key milestone following a Memorandum of Understanding signed between HCHF and IIIU in September 2024. The event will also mark the inauguration of the Indonesian Institute of Human Fraternity, a dedicated center within IIIU aimed at promoting global dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation among diverse communities.

The gathering will see government officials, religious leaders, academics, activists, and civil society representatives come together to address pressing global challenges and propose actionable strategies to foster human fraternity and bridge societal divides. The conference will focus on four main areas: building cross-border fraternity; rights and social justice; the role of media in bridging divides; and climate change, global crises, and environmental justice.

Prof. Jamhari, Rector of IIIU, stated, “Through this conference, IIIU and HCHF reaffirm our shared commitment to making fraternity a lived reality for all. It represents an urgent call for unity and cooperation to build a more inclusive and just global society.”

The concept of Human Fraternity is grounded in the 2019 Abu Dhabi Document, signed by Pope Francis and His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. This document emphasizes the common bond and mutual responsibility shared by all of humanity.

This international conference highlights the joint efforts of HCHF and IIIU to position human fraternity as a central force for global peace, cooperation, and prosperity.
