International Judges and E-Arbitration Ensure Fair Contest at King Abdulaziz Competition, Participants Say

Several participants in the 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran emphasized that the involvement of international judges and the use of electronic arbitration ensure a fair and transparent process for scoring and evaluating recitations. They highlighted that reaching the final rounds, held at the Grand Mosque near the Holy Kaaba, is a prestigious achievement, given that the competition is named after King Abdulaziz and is patronized by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. These sentiments were expressed during their participation in this international competition, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance. The competition, which features 174 contestants from 123 countries, is taking place at the Grand Mosque in the Makkah Region and will continue through August 21, 2024. The contestants also noted that the presence of international judges and the use of electronic arbitr ation contribute to a high standard of competition and emphasize the global nature of the event, which brings together Quran memorizers from all corners of the world to compete for the supreme honor of reciting the Holy Quran.
