Iraq and Egypt stress the importance of facilitating entry procedures for citizens between the two countries

Baghdad, Head of the Arab Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Osama Mahdi Ghanem, met the Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq Walid Muhammad Ismail, today, Thursday, at the Ministry building in Baghdad.

 

A statement by the Ministry stated that during the meeting, they discussed ways to develop relations between the two countries, in addition to discussing the most important issues on the regional and international arena, the most important of which is the crisis in Ukraine. The two sides stressed the need to seek to resolve the crisis through diplomatic channels away from the use of military force and economic sanctions.

 

They also discussed issues related to food security and the energy crisis, which cast a shadow over the whole world, and the two sides touched on the entry procedures for citizens and the need to work to facilitate these procedures between the two brotherly countries.

 

During the meeting, the head of the Arab Department indicated Iraq’s pride in the historical relations linking Baghdad with Cairo in its political, economic and cultural dimensions.
