The Israeli occupation army escalated its airstrikes and artillery shelling on a number of southern Lebanese towns, resulting in a systematic destruction of homes and institutions. A Lebanese security source told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) correspondent in Beirut that "intensive airstrikes were recorded on the town of Sheihen, targeting the civil defense headquarters, which led to its complete destruction without any casualties, while airstrikes were recorded on the town of Khiam." He added that Israeli artillery shelled the town of Kafr Hammam, destroying a number of houses and the electricity network in the town, and a Merkava tank shelled the town of Kafr Shuba, causing material damage.
