Gaza city: At least 19 Palestinians lost their lives and dozens sustained injuries at dawn on Saturday as Israeli forces targeted tents for displaced individuals in Khan Yunis, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, as well as a house in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza.
According to Emirates News Agency, WAFA News Agency reported that Israeli artillery bombarded the tents for displaced people in the Asdaa area, northwest of Khan Yunis. This attack resulted in the deaths of 17 individuals, including six children and an infant, while others were injured. In another incident, an Israeli drone struck a house in the Maghazi refugee camp, leading to the deaths of two Palestinians and injuring more.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) issued a statement emphasizing the potential to halt famine in Gaza City. The agency called for a significant increase in aid through the United Nations, including UNRWA, to reverse the ongoing crisis. UNRWA highlighted that their warehouses in Jordan and Egypt are well-stocked with food, medicines, and hygiene supplies, sufficient to fill 6,000 trucks.
UNRWA urged the Israeli authorities to permit the immediate entry of aid into Gaza to address the humanitarian needs effectively.
