Israel’s incursions in Jerusalem systematically fuel escalation-RCJA

Israeli occupation's measures in Jerusalem accelerate colonial practices as a Zionist Judaizing plan for the city by displacing its people and replacing settlers, Secretary General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA), Abdullah Kaanan, said. Kannan noted Al-Aqsa Mosque constitutes the central site for Israel's steps due to its historical and religious status among Muslims. According to a RCJA statement Wednesday, Kanaan pointed out that the danger of the Israeli incursions at this stage could be exploited as a political cover to cool off the widespread protests by Israelis against Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which demand ending the war on the Gaza Strip. Kanaan indicated that these Israeli accelerated measures take place in a "complex" political climate, coinciding with the fierce aggression on Gaza, the attack on the West Bank and its camps, and the deliberate Israeli procrastination of any deal to end the genocidal war against Gaza people. Kaanan stressed the RCJA's role in exposing the ongoing Judaizing policy in the occupied Palestinian territories, which requires an "immediate" international position to end the war and occupation and oblige Israel to abide by international legitimacy resolutions. In this context, Kanaan referred to calls by international community to establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. Kanaan also pointed out that His Majesty King Abdullah II has affirmed that peace will only be achieved through the two-state solution and establishment of a Palestinian state. Noting historical Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites, he added that Jordan will maintain support to the steadfastness and unity of Palestinian people, at all prices and sacrifices.
