Abu dhabi: The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency successfully launched an H3 rocket carrying the Michibiki No. 7 positioning satellite from the Tanegashima Space Centre.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Michibiki satellites are part of Japan's Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), a positioning system similar to the Global Positioning System (GPS).
The satellite successfully reached its orbit and is scheduled to enter operational service in six months.
