Jeddah Book Fair 2022 Concludes Activities with Participation of 900 Publishing Houses and 400 Pavilions of Knowledge

Jeddah, The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission (LPTC) concluded Saturday the activities of Jeddah Book Fair 2022, which witnessed the participation of more than 900 local, Arab and international publishing houses, and about 400 pavilions of knowledge.

The culture program of Jeddah Book Fair 2022 presented more than 100 literary cultural events, in addition to holding two specialized conferences in conjunction with the Fair, which were the first of their kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: The Conference of Science Fiction and the Conference of Digital Publishing.

The CEO of LPTC, Dr. Mohamed Hassan Alwan, emphasized the unlimited support and attention being accorded to the cultural sector by the prudent leadership in to make culture as the Kingdom’ soft power, and a civilized achievement that keeps pace with the qualitative leaps and shifts that the Kingdom is going through in various aspects, describing Jeddah Book Fair 2022 as the “Knowledge window through which the world looks at the Saudis and their culture.”

Dr. Alwan also appreciated the directives, follow-up and interest of Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Commission in supporting the Fair, providing the necessary capabilities to produce an image that befits the Kingdom’s position at the regional and global levels, in addition to strengthening the presence of Saudi culture as one of the tributaries of the Kingdom’s soft power.

He further said that the city of Jeddah contributes strongly to the Arab and international cultural scene, as it derives its strength from a rich history and cultural heritage, as well as from a fertile environment for creativity and creators.
