Jordanian Foreign Minister: Riyadh, Amman Work Together in Ending War on Gaza, Achieve Comprehensive, Just Peace

Amman, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warned against the Israeli illegitimate measures in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, where settlement activity is expanding and confiscation of Palestinian land is continuing besides increasing settler terrorist attacks and military operations and arresting Palestinians.

Safadi’s remarks came during a joint press conference in Amman today with his Irish counterpart Micheál Martin, where he said, “Jordan and Saudi Arabia work very closely, and our positions are identical that the only way to resolve this conflict is to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, and that this is the way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace. Jordan and Saudi Arabia are part of the Arab group, which is trying to formulate a plan that can achieve these goals. Therefore, we stand with each other and will continue to work together to stop this war and achieve a comprehensive and just peace.”

He added that “No other party can do the work that the United Na
tions Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) does, and the independent review of the agency proved the falsity of the Israeli allegations against UNRWA and proved the agency’s professionalism and impartiality, and that it cannot be replaced or dispensed.”
