Judicial Sciences Institute and University of Sharjah Review New Civil Transactions Law

Sharjah: The Sharjah Institute for Judicial Sciences, in collaboration with the College of Law at the University of Sharjah, organized an extensive panel discussion entitled "The New Civil Transactions Law issued by Federal Decree No. 25 of 2025." This event, held at the University of Sharjah, was attended by Judge Dr. Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Head of the Sharjah Judicial Department, and Judge Shamma Al Salman, Director of the Sharjah Institute for Judicial Sciences, along with several other judges.

According to Emirates News Agency, the session featured discussions led by Judge Dr. Yaqoub Yousef Al Hammadi, President of the Khorfakkan Court of Appeal, Professor Dr. Adnan Sarhan, Dean of the College of Law at UOS, and Professor Dr. Saleh Al Luhaibi, Head of the Department of Private Law at UOS. They explored key amendments in the new Civil Transactions Law, its impact on legal and judicial aspects, and the mechanisms for its effective implementation.

Judge Dr. Al Hammadi highlighted that Federal Decree-Law No. (25) of 2025 represents a legislative achievement in the United Arab Emirates' legal development. The law goes beyond updating texts or rearranging provisions, as it rethinks several civil concepts to align with the economic, investment, and technological changes experienced by the country over the past forty years.

He further explained that the additions in the decree-law enhance the protection of rights and strengthen the principles of justice and clarity in the application of legal texts. This fosters confidence in the judicial system and reduces disputes.
