Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Attends Abu Dhabi Summer Sports Event

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has attended the fifth edition of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports (ADSS), held at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi until 23rd August 2026. The event is organised by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and sponsored by ADNOC Group.

According to Emirates News Agency, during his visit, Sheikh Khaled engaged with participants and explored the event's sports and community programmes aimed at reaching all segments of society, including families, children, youth, and People of Determination. The event encourages greater participation in physical activity and promotes sports culture. He reviewed initiatives that inspire the community to adopt active lifestyles, strengthen community engagement, and provide a sporting environment that enhances quality of life.

Sheikh Khaled commended the efforts of entities advancing the sports sector and fostering community participation, emphasizing the importance of sports in enhancing social wellbeing and building healthier communities. Abu Dhabi Summer Sports, one of the largest events of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, spans 48,000 square metres of indoor space and includes more than 70 courts across 29 sports, offering activities for all age groups.

The event also features a 1.5km indoor running track and a dedicated area for sports clubs to engage the community and encourage participation in sports. The fifth edition of ADSS includes an expanded ADSS Talks series with sports experts discussing the role of sports in promoting healthier lifestyles. Additionally, the ADSS Expo showcases innovations and technologies in sports equipment and fitness.

Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Saif Saeed Ghobash, and Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri during the tour.
