Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship’s Final Round Set to Commence in Abu Dhabi

Abu dhabi: The final round of the second Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship (Gi category) is set to begin tomorrow at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, featuring top athletes from clubs and academies throughout the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, the concluding round of the championship signifies the end of a season characterized by competitive events and meticulous organization, solidifying its status as a premier jiu-jitsu event in the nation. Approximately 2,500 male and female athletes will compete over the course of three days. The opening day will focus on bouts in the under-18, adult, and master divisions, while the second day will highlight the under-14 and under-16 categories. The championship will conclude on Sunday with the Under-12 and Kids divisions, and will award the top three clubs with the highest points accumulated in previous rounds.

Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, noted that the final round re
presents the culmination of a season marked by significant progress in athlete performance and increased participation in jiu-jitsu nationwide. He emphasized that the championship serves as a vital platform for talent development, adhering to the highest technical standards. The Gi competitions have been instrumental in preparing athletes for both national and international challenges.

Al Menhali explained that Gi competitions are characterized by technical diversity and tactical complexity, focusing on precision and defensive discipline. This allows athletes to enhance their experience and balance skill sets in both Gi and No-Gi disciplines.

The championship boasts a total prize pool of AED 3 million, increased under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. This initiative underscores his ongoing support for the sport’s development and his dedication to encouraging athletes to excel and perform at their
best in all competitions.
