Khalifa Award for Education Showcases AI and VR Impact at Dubai Education Exhibition.


Dubai: The General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education has participated in the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition (GESS) in the Middle East, held in Dubai in 2024. The award provided an extensive overview of its mission, objectives, and categories for its 18th cycle (2024-2025), emphasizing its dedication to assessing the influence of artificial intelligence and virtual reality on educational quality on local, regional, and international levels.

According to Emirates News Agency, Amal Al-Afeefi, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education, stated that the exhibition serves as a significant platform for presenting prominent scientific and technological solutions aimed at enhancing the learning environment. This includes areas such as video game design, game-based learning, and e-sports, which hold potential for developing interactive and blended learning programs and other modern educational methods.

Al-Afeefi further highlighted the award’s commitment to strengthening c
ooperation with various educational entities. She noted that the exhibition attracts approximately 8,000 specialists from 74 countries, providing an opportunity to display best practices, applications, and innovative solutions in the education sector.

Additionally, the award organized a panel discussion titled “Artificial Intelligence and Early Childhood: Ethical Considerations and Implications for Future Directions.” This session explored AI systems and their application in early childhood learning environments, addressing the growing use of devices and applications by young children, their parents, caregivers, and teachers. The discussion covered several scientific issues related to AI ethics research concerning early childhood development and the integration of these principles into practical applications.
