Abu Dhabi:Khalifa University of Science and Technology has introduced InstrucTwin, an innovative agentic artificial intelligence platform aimed at revolutionizing the educational landscape. This UAE-developed technology is set to transform educational systems by supporting learning, empowering educators, and translating institutional priorities into actionable outcomes.
According to Wam, InstrucTwin is commercialized through Khalifa University Enterprises Company (KUEC) and integrates specialized AI agents throughout the education cycle. These agents assist in personalized learning, lesson and assessment development, grading, feedback, and more, all while adhering to curriculum requirements and maintaining educator oversight.
InstrucTwin differs from standalone generative AI tools by operating within established institutional rules, ensuring educator judgment and accountability. The platform utilizes specialized AI agents tailored to various educational roles and tasks, enhancing its applicability across the education ecosystem.
The collaboration between Khalifa University and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has facilitated the translation of ADEK’s AI Literacy Framework into curriculum resources and implementation materials. This partnership has also supported educator capacity building, with over 21,400 educators receiving AI professional development on InstrucTwin, including advanced training for 170 designated AI Leads.
InstrucTwin’s governance model ensures educators retain control over AI interactions, which are grounded in approved curriculum content. The platform includes oversight, reporting, and escalation mechanisms to maintain accountability. At the institutional level, InstrucTwin connects teaching, learning, assessment, and performance data, aiding education leaders in identifying gaps and monitoring impact.
