King Abdulaziz Public Library Unveils Rare Book Featuring 28 Historic Paintings of Arabian Horses from 1846

The King Abdulaziz Public Library has announced its acquisition of a rare German book containing 28 international paintings of Arabian horses. The book was published 178 years ago, in 1846, in the town of Weil, Germany, during the reign of King Wilhelm I of Wrttemberg (1781-1864). A second edition of the book was published in Germany in September 1985, featuring versions in German, English, and Arabic, with an introduction by Carl, Duke of Wrttemberg. The book, titled "The Duel," describes the best and most beautiful Arabian horses from the horse breeding farm founded by Wilhelm I. The book accurately describes the authenticity and beauty of the Arabian horse and showcases the close relations between the East and German Wrttemberg at that time. It also features stunning artistic paintings and documents the friendship between the East and West through the purebred Arabian horses of the Royal Horse Farm in the German town of Weil and the royal stables of King Wilhelm I of Wrttemberg. In 1846, Wilhelm I or ganized a "duel" for horses, with the horse farm in Weil and the royal stables featuring over 100 purebred Arabian horses, including famous horses and the king's personal horses.
