The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Thursday began distributing fishing equipment including containers and life vests to Yemeni fishermen in Al-Mahrah Governorate, Yemen, as part of the emergency assistance project to improve the living conditions of people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. The program was implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
The project, benefiting 3,000 fishermen, aims to increase fish production, providing the local market with high quality products and improving the living conditions of Yemeni fishermen.
The director of the social affairs office in Al-Mahrah Governorate, Fayez Belhaf, commended the efforts of KSrelief in supporting the fishery sector and alleviating the suffering of the fishermen affected by the humanitarian crisis and natural disasters.
The support to fishermen is part of the humanitarian and relief projects the Kingdom implements in Yemen, through KSrelief, to enhance food security and support farmers and food producers in Yemen.
